Born in Kansas City, WHB was purchased in 1954 by Todd Storz of Omaha, Nebraska. He was the first to introduce a daily Top40 countdown record show, offer regularly scheduled listen-to-win contests, hard hitting news "Live At 55", snappy-sounding DJs, and singing call letters. The "New WHB" became known as the "World's Happiest Broadcasters" and was copied from coast to coast. For more information about the fabulous Top40 era, go to www.reelradio.com.
